Is biopsy the ultimately best diagnostic test for brain tumor? How much is it in the Philippines?
Q. We know that the signs and symptoms that we see in the internet are not inclusive and are pretty vague because they might be caused by other diseases... Biopsy diagnostic test sounds pretty expensive, so I'm seeking help from those who have experience with brain tumors, biopsies, etc... I would really appreciate your time and effort!

A. Whoa, hold on a minute there!!! I have had a brain tumor, deadly lethal kind too! MRI scans are the definitive tool for diagnosing a brain tumor. Sometimes a CAT scan can be helpful, but generally the brain doctor will want several MRI scans with the help of an injection. The injection makes the images more clear and distinct. A biopsy is is resection sample, in other words they have already drilled a hole in your head to get to the biopsy test. No, no, brain tumors are found and analyzed by neurosurgeons based on contrast given size and location, density. Then a pathologist will take a look. A pathologist is a good type of doctor, they tell doctors and patients what is likely to be effected. For example cancer of the testicles where by… [cont.]

How much physics does a diagnostic medical sonographer actually use?
Q. I am in school pursuing my bachelor's of science to be a diagnostic medical sonographer. University level physics is NOT taught well in my school, and is a very difficult subject for me. How much of this type of physics will I actually use? If this course is so difficult for me, am I in the right major? I like anatomy and all my other courses. Just NOT physics. It is a nightmare.

A. I just went through a similar issue, but with my Honda. Auto Zone DOES do it for free, but my car issues were so severe (car stopping and needed to be jumped, all dash lights coming on) that I had my dealer do the diagnostic. The dealer charged me $98, so I am am going to guess that Chevy dealer will charge similar more or less. My car problem turned out to be that I needed to replace the altenator, which cost me a pretty penny! Hope your car issue is not as severe.

A. Try this: click Start, click Run, type msconfig, ok. Select Normal, apply, ok. PC will reboot. If that does not work, virus may have messed up your OS. Consider repairing it. You need the OS installation disc to do it. Here's how for XP: Procedure is similar for Vista. All files remain intact after the repair. It is the other method (recovery) that erases personal files and softwares.

A. True: most auto parts stores will so a free check engine light test. False: the code read will be the exact problem with the vehicle. The code in the computer read by the scanner is just a starting point. It will not tell you what part to replace. Further trouble shooting is required. This type of work you will not get done free at a parts store.

Would someone be able to tell me how much one would make in this profession or kindly refer me to a website that would have the starting salary, median salary, and the salary one makes after working 2 or more years in this profession? A. When thinking about entering an ultrasound program, you need not be concerned so much about certificate vs. degree. What is important is that you go to an accredited program, whether it is college or hospital based. An accredited program allows you to take your registry (licensing) exams upon graduation. Once you get licensed, you will never be asked about your schooling again. An employer does not care what route you take to get licensed, they just want you to have that license. Don't waste your time or money on a NON-accredited program. Upon completion and graduation from a NON-accredited program, you must work in the field of sonography for a full year prior to taking your licensing examinations. But, you will have a hard time finding… [cont.]

If I delete all the diagnostic files off my Ipod will it still work?
Q. So I have a 30 GB Ipod and I keep getting the error message of error -69 everytime I try to sync the Ipod. I keep restoring it and it still doesn't work. I get half way through syncing it and if gives me that message. I figure if I delete all the diagnostic files like the hidden one off the Ipod that Itunes will reinstall them and it will work again. Has anyone else experienced this?

A. If you delete any of the hidden files you might as well format it (right-click, format under My Computer) and as soon as you plug it back into iTunes it will reinstall the iPod files.

A. If you don't have the digital odometer (really?? on a 2001?) then you will need to have the codes read by someone with a code reader. Autozone and Checker will do it for free...The plug should be under the dash.

How much is it to have a diagnostic run on a 1998 Chevy cavalier?
Q. So tonight was fun. I went to get in my car after leaving work to find my parking lights were left on. So when I had to drop back into work real quick not 5 minutes later, and had to restart my car it gave me trouble. Eventually it started, and i attributed it to my being an idiot and leaving the lights on. So i decided to take the car on a bit of a drive to ensure the battery got a little charge. About 10 or 15 minutes later the temperature guage was through the roof and in the red zone. I saw a little steam coming from under the hood so i stopped at a friends and let it cool down. I put coolant in when it got cold but the low coolant light is still on. I've had to put coolant in my car about once every month or two since I rear… [cont.]
Asked by Christie F - Tue Feb 13 00:53:56 2007 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments

A. You could go to one of the auto parts stores (checker, shucks, autozone) and get a cooling system pressure tester. (you can usually rent them for under $20) It acts like a radiator cap and you manually put pressure on the system by pumping it up. Then look for your leaks. Its allot safer than having your hands moving around a running engine. My guess is that you had a pocket of air in the system, or a pocket of pure water that caused you to overheat. You could also have a thermostat stuck closed, so its not letting the cooled coolant back into the engine block. What really sucks is that if a car pins out the temp guage it usually leads to a blown head gasket from the intense overheating. If you leave the radiator cap off and… [cont.]

Q. My cousin has a shop and he wanted to know where he can purchase an authentic diagnostic tool like the ones the BMW dealership mechanics use. Do the SnapOn tools just give codes or do they perform like the real diagnostic tools where they provide actual information and show a diagram on how to access that particular part?

Can people check out your car nowadays without doing a diagnostic scan?
Q. Called a mechanic and he did a diagnostic scan, no errors showed up, all good. Next day car idles very low and cuts out, called another mechanic and he wants to do a diagnostic scan as well, 35 per scan. Are there people that first check the relevant places before just shoving the scanner in your car and asking for 35. I have been told it is either the fuel pump or spark plugs so why do they need to keep doing scans?
Asked by JAFOOLY - Mon Mar 30 09:32:30 2009 - - 8 Answers - 0 Comments

A. In this day and age, where cars are computerized and most who work in auto shops are technicians, we don't do business the same way we did 50 years ago. "...check the relevant places..." assumes a high level of working knowledge and experience. You'd pay as much for a couple hours of a mechanic's time who *knows* where to put his ear and shine a flashlight as what you're paying a technician to plug in their diagnostic computer. And, if you have an intermittent failure, then it's going to be tough to find no matter who's looking. The only thing that'll move you along faster is to find a mechanic that's familiar with your particular vehicle and has historical experience with the common failures.

I think it would help to bring greater attention to this condition. A catchy name is half the battle, Amytrophic Lateral Sclerosis was hiding in the shadows until it changed it's name to Lou Gherigs disease. Same problem with this Prolactinoom. Never heard of it. How soon do you know what they find on a diagnostic mammogram?
Q. I saw my doctor because of a knot under my arm. She felt and said there were actually three swollen nodes. She then exmamined my left breast and found a mass in it so she is sending me for a diagnostic mammogram. I was under the impression that it may include getting an ultrasound also and that I would know if they confirmed the presence of a mass at that time. She has already scheduled my appointment for a biopsy a week later.
Asked by 2soops - Mon Mar 16 00:05:20 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. While they may be able to tell from the mammogram and/or ultrasound, the technician is not qualified to diagnose and break that news. The results will be sent to your Dr. The technician will be able to give you an estimate of when the results will get to your Dr, generally within 48 hours. A biopsy would be the next step.
